Senior Session: Lindsay

I haven't laughed this hard during a photo shoot in awhile. I met Robynne, Lindsay's mom at a writers' conference last spring. She is my favorite modern day pioneer, and one of the more outrageous humans I have met in some time. (She blogs at My Little Prairie Home). Check it out! Haven't you always wanted to know how to make homemade cottage cheese?

Her daughter, Lindsay, is also a gem, although a little more sane than her mother. It was a glorious fall day, and we chased the golden light and found a carousel and channeled phantom of the opera and lugged antique chairs up and down hills. A good day indeed.

So fun to see how they love each other.

kirk + keri + the ferry building

Old friends are the best. I knew Kirk in college, where we participated in one of the great prank wars of our time. The guys always beat us at the games, and at one point bagged up roadkill and left in on our porch. Ah, the memories.
They celebrated their 10th anniversary by driving up the coast, and we captured these shots at one of my favorite places in san fran, the ferry building. Fall in the bay area has been quite glorious; persimmons and pomegranates, warm days and cool nights. I think I'm smitten.

Kirk endured a ridiculous line for his first cup of blue bottle. Although leery, he did admit it was delicious.
So fun to see you friends and hear about your lives and see how much you adore each other.

ann + jason

The knapp kids are dropping like flies in 2014. Here is a session with my dear brother and his lovely ann, who happens to be one of my best friends. Sometimes things just work out, even if it does take twelve years. It still seems surreal that she gets to be my sister.

We took these photos on a glorious september night, with the wildflowers and prairie grasses and rural landscape all aglow with the last light of summer. Nights like these remind me of all the things I love about where I grew up, the simple life and beauty, and most of all the people who love each other fiercely.

love you both. so grateful for who you are in my life
and so glad to call you family.

The Lehman Family

It was great to spend time with this fun-loving and incredibly giving family. They were troopers with the crazy humidity and an almost thunderstorm. I forgot about the unpredictability of midwest summers!
The kids all brought something they are into right now, and I loved capturing them in their element. And I learned a lot of great yo-yo tricks.
Love you guys! Thanks for all you do for the world.
